About

A mostly stream of consciousness blog from a 22-year-old female archaeologist with too much time on her hands.

Things you will find here:
archaeology
anime/manga/video games
skeletons
Harry Potter
pretty pictures
cute things
dry humor and despondency
general nerdiness

Top Text: Brings Books Back at End of Semester
Bottom: What do you mean I can’t return this for full price?
We’re a book STORE not a library. The point of a store is to make a profit, not help you keep all of your money.

Other excuses people give you to try and get more money back for textbooks:
“But the coffee stains were there when I bought it.”
“The binding was broken when you sold it to me”
“It was brand new when I bought it”
“It didn’t come with any software”
All of the textbooks we sold had to be in a certain condition when we bought or resold them, so none of these ever worked. The bookstore wouldn’t have sold you a book with water/coffee damage or one with binding falling apart or without the accompanying software, because we wouldn’t have bought textbooks like that in the first place. (Plus, reselling them in bad condition would break a legal agreement with the publisher, which is a big no-no).
In addition, our store had a strict policy of only taking textbook returns for the first two weeks of the semester, so we also had problems with people trying to return books they bought during finals week…even though they were told when they bought it that they wouldn’t be able to return it, only sell it back.
